Talking With Anlly!

A few days ago we received Anlly's (Angie's) contact information from Colombia. Our prayers to communicate with her became reality and now we can talk! We are using an app called Whatsapp that a dear friend recommended to us. At first it wasn't easy but it was still oh so sweet to hear her "voice". Now I feel like an old pro, translating her words with a Spanish translating app my niece recommended called Spanishdict, and then translating my responses back to her.

We have talked about food, school, summer, how much we miss seeing each other, bedtimes, her foster family, our family, pets...She is an amazing, intelligent, beautiful girl, inside and out. We cannot tell her that we are trying to adopt her and this is so hard for me. We cannot tell her how much we long for her to be with us. I can only tell her that I love her, and I miss her, and blow emoticon kisses to her.

Today we finalized our home study and psychological reports, a Colombian requirement. Our estimated timeline to have Anlly home was between January and March of 2015, but we pray we can get her home before Christmas. It is in God's hands. We have friends who brought their Colombian children home sooner, and others who have waited longer. We ask for God's patience and guidance as we continue our paperwork and wait for Anlly. We also thank Him that we can talk to her now, and let her know how much she is missed and how much we love her.
